Naomi Telford

Naomi is a script consultant with over twelve years of experience in feature film development. Previously, as Senior Development Executive at The UK Film Council, she worked with a broad range of creative talent and industry professionals across a wide variety of projects from low budget to studio level. She is currently working under the umbrella of ID2 Films on both short term and long term collaborations.

As Senior Development Executive, Naomi provided an important link between talent, projects, producers and distributors often brokering relationships with other financiers to bring them on board a project.  Running a slate of around thirty projects she has been involved in every stage of the development process from optioning material and early development through to post production.

During this time, Naomi brought in distributors Pathé and Intermedia to back a new branch of the  25 Words initiative called The Directors Cut. Together they cast a wide net for ideas tailored to directors Danny Boyle and John Crowley.  She also played an integral role in the design of a high profile event, The Big Idea, which brought together leading industry experts and inspirational creative talent from both sides of the Atlantic for a series of debates focussed on development.

In addition, Naomi oversaw twelve of the Development Fund’s slate funding initiatives, including Pathé, Jupiter, Ealing Studios, Ruby, Qwerty and Darlow Smithson as well as the Big Talk comedy slate (co-funded with Film Four).

Working alongside a literary consultant, Naomi also sourced adaptation projects for development and production. Recent projects include Paul Torday’s ‘Salmon Fishing in the Yemen’ (Kudos) and  Elliot Castro’s ‘Other People’s Money’ (Cowboy).
