Emmanuel Oberg

Emmanuel first worked as a reader/consultant in 1990-1994 for Studio Canal on co-productions with the U.S. (assessing projects like The Silence of the Lambs and Cliffhanger), then as a script consultant for many European producers (Robert Jones, The Film Consortium, Aardman Studios...)

In 1996, Emmanuel wrote, directed and co-produced an award-winning short film (Double Jeu / Game Over, which was selected in more than 60 festivals, won 11 awards, and sold to 18 TV channels). Since then, he has focused mostly on script writing and development one way or another (writing, consulting or training).

Emmanuel created ID2 Films in France in 1997, primarily to handle his consulting / training work and to develop feature film projects (most notably Robin Forever, an action romantic comedy about a modern Robin Hood, and Fair Play, an action thriller about video games). The company evolved into a new entity, ID2 Films UK, when he decided to move permanently to London in April 2006.

Over the last decade, in parallel to his writing,  Emmanuel has been involved as a script consultant with many international training organisations (like ACE, Arista, Moonstone or Screen Training Ireland). He has also worked as a scriptwriting expert for the European Commission's Media program.

A few years ago, Emmanuel designed his own 3-day advanced development workshop for producers, development executives and writers, which he enjoys running a few times a year. More recently, in 2006, he worked as Senior Development Executive for the UK Film Council.

Emmanuel is now focusing primarily on his writing, working on feature film projects like Ghosthunters, an action/adventure co-written with John McKay (Crush, Robin Hood), produced by Lee Thomas (Crush, Road to Guantanamo, Confetti) and Donald de Line (Body of Lies, The Untouchables: Capone Rising) for Warner Bros; Number9dream, a Yakusa thriller adapted from the novel by David Mitchell, also produced by Lee Thomas and Cat & Mouse, a family film in 3-D produced by Phil Streather (PLF) and to be directed by Mike Slee (Bugs!).
